What I liked

The team environment helped create a sense of belonging, especially in remote work. You get to provide input on what type of work/research area you want to work on. There are opportunities to work on other projects and get more involved.

What I wish was different

The onboarding process could have been smoother, I felt like I was reviewing other people's work relatively soon to when I started.

Advice

Be accessible and interested in what is going on and you will find opportunities to engage in what you want to do!

Absolutely amazing mentorship from Michelle. She was always passionate, keen to detail, and also pushed me and my other teammates to become leaders throughout our work. Despite having a busy schedule, she always kept track of meetings and provided assistance when requested.

What I wish was different

Due to the experience being remote, I would've appreciated the in-person experience. Since the project I was working on, there was no initial outline, but Michelle was good with clarifying what she was looking for in my work.

Advice

What I wish was different

I wish there was more immediate communication follow up since I needed a lot of support as an intern. Part of this difficulty was the different time zones of remote work.
