Business Opportunity and Workforce Development Intern
June - August 2019 • Raleigh, NC
What I liked
I enjoyed being able to work with the team I was assigned to. The entire program was made up of students from each of North Carolina's HBCUs. It was a great experience getting to meet and work with so many new people.
What I wish was different
There was a point in my internship where our direct supervisor within our office was terminated. The way that it was handled created a somewhat uncomfortable environment for a time.
Advice
The biggest piece of advice I would share having had this experience would be to always remain flexible. Deadlines and due dates should always be considered subject to change. The ability to pivot and adjust accordingly is invaluable in fast paced environments.
