The entire company has an amazing collaborative work culture. Everyone wants to help each other, and I learned so much in the 10 weeks I was there. I was given a good amount of responsibility and at the end of the summer presented a capstone project which tied all my knowledge I had gained together.
What I wish was different
Nothing, it was an amazing experience!
Advice
Ask as many questions as you have, the more questions you ask, the more you learn.

Hedge Fund Investing Intern
June - August 2018 • Chicago, IL
What I liked
I gained a very real perspective into what life like an analyst would be like. I was given real work which was critical to the success of my strategy team, and therefore was very much intellectually stimulated and engaged. I gained in-depth knowledge into the Hedge Fund industry and strengthened my skills as an alternative asset investor.
What I wish was different
I wish in some respects that the intensity of the job would have been decreased. We put in significant hours beyond the typical work week. Overall, however, the intensity of the job was appreciated due to the knowledge gained as a result.
Advice
Expect to be put to work and to work significant hours, but at the same time, it will pay off with returns of in-depth and useful knowledge gained.

Investor Relations Intern
June - August 2018 • Chicago, IL
What I liked
I enjoyed being given real responsibilities and delivering work that went to actual clients. I gained invaluable professional experience and learned how to work in a high-paced, changing team.
What I wish was different
The learning curve for this industry was very steep, as a niche company.
Advice
I would advise people to ask as many questions as possible, even if you feel annoying. This is something that I did not do early on, and saw myself falling behind in terms of learning.
