THE CITY OF LEAWOOD, KANSAS is looking for
Head Lifeguards
Are you ideal for working as a Head Lifeguard at the Leawood Aquatic?
- Are you 17 years of age OR older?
- Possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills?
- Are you reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment?
- Are you ready to make some extra money for the summer?
- Do you have lifeguarding experience?
- 17 years of age and two years of experience?
- 18 years of age and one year of experience?
As the Head Lifeguard, you will work:
- Approximately 20 – 40 hours per week between 7 am and 10 pm.
- Weekdays, nights, weekends, and one to two holidays.
- The Pool Season runs from May to September.
A few of the things you will be doing include:
- Ensuring the required number of lifeguards are on duty by overseeing rotations and breaks and providing ongoing monitoring and coaching to maintain a safe facility throughout the day.
- Assisting with patron emergencies or concerns, including administering first aid, performing rescue techniques, and utilizing equipment as needed. Contacting emergency medical personnel when necessary.
- Daily inspections of lifeguard and pool equipment to ensure the overall safety of the aquatic center.
- Maintaining records of all lifeguards' required in-service hours and skills practiced to ensure each lifeguard completes 4 hours per month.
