About the Position:

Under general direction of the Office Chief of Statewide Planning, a Principal Transportation Planner, the Senior Transportation Engineer, Branch Chief of Statewide Modeling, is responsible for creating and managing the Department's California Statewide Freight Forecasting and Travel Demand Model (CSF2TDM). The CSF2TDM is an estimate of current and future travel volume by mode used to inform Caltrans planning and project delivery work. The incumbent sets program objectives; defines business processes, program management, and investment pri-oritization; and is the CSF2TDM subject matter expert and coordinator.
