Farm Assistant
Responsibilities: The Farm Assistant is responsible for assisting with the care of horses on a small farm (six horses) in Anchorage, Alaska. Primary responsibilities include weighing and feeding hay, removing manure from enclosures, dumping manure, and filling water troughs.
Hours: Shifts are typically 2-3 hours/day and occur during the hours of 10 AM and 2 PM. We're looking for someone who can work a minimum of one shift per week.
Pay: $20/hour
Qualifications: Responsible and reliable applicants interested in working outdoors are encouraged to apply. No horse care experience necessary. Ability to shovel, rake, move wheelbarrows, pull carts and lift hay bales (typically approx. 50 lbs.) encouraged. However, we are open to working with otherwise qualified candidates to build the strength necessary for these tasks. (I.e. We encourage you to apply if you are interested but not sure if you can lift a hay bale.)
Location: Anchorage, Alaska (lower hillside, near Zoo); all work occurs outdoors
