Build a lasting and rewarding federal career as a Civil Engineer with USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)! 

 

In this role, you'll support field operations in East Texas, providing basic technical guidance in the overall planning, design, installation, and maintenance of the engineering phases of soil and water conservation projects. 

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning, design and construction of engineering practices such as water management, animal waste management, erosion control, flood control, wetland creation or restoration, and other conservation practices needing engineering guidance.
  • Interprets plans and specifications for contractors, solving problems at local level as to proper interpretation of specifications.
  • Performs site investigations and field construction checks for conservation practice installations.
  • Provide feedback and training of field personnel as required

 

This is a developmental position, with opportunity to train, learn, and grow progressively in responsibilities, assignments, and grade level. The major duties and responsibilities outlined above reflect the full promotion level of GS-9. 

 

This position is based in Nacogdoches, TX. Qualified applicants may be eligible for reimbursement of relocation expenses in accordance with agency policy.
