Grants Administrator 3

The Department of Corrections, Division of Administration & Support, Office of the Commissioner is recruiting for a Grants Administrator 3, located in Juneau, Alaska.

What you will be doing:
This position will research, coordinate and oversee the centralized management of grants and cooperative agreements awarded both to and by all divisions within the Department of Corrections.

This position will work in a team environment and will interface daily with a variety of people including members of the public, field offices, other managers, directors, and the Commissioner's Office.

Who we are looking for:
To be successful in the position, the successful candidate will need the following core competencies:

  • Grant Management Experience with the ability to successfully research and manage grants, including writing proposals, securing funding, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
  • Familiarity with grant management systems such as; Grants.gov, Grant Lifecycle Manager (GLM), or other relevant platforms with strong skills in data analysis and the ability to generate comprehensive reports for data reporting requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to grants, including reporting standards and compliance issues.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities to manage multiple grants, deadlines, and reporting requirements simultaneously as well as experience in managing projects from inception through completion, including budgeting, monitoring progress, and adjusting plans as needed.
  • Ability to comprehend written material and interpret and apply confidentiality rules, restrictions and instructions and have a meticulous approach to managing documentation, ensuring that all grant requirements and deadlines are met without errors.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:
 

  • Accounting: Knowledge of traditional accounting practices including accrual, obligations, and costs methods.
  • Grants Management: Knowledge of requirements, practices, and procedures for soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and processing proposals, and awarding and administering grants and agreements.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
  • Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.
  • Technical Credibility: Understands and appropriately applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible experience in accounting, grants administration, budget administration, procurement, professional services contracts and/or providing administrative support to a business or organization.

Some positions may require procurement certification from the Department of Administration, Division of General Services.  

Some positions may require frequent travel to remote areas.
