Realty Assistant (Generalist/OA)

Summary

This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Alaska Region, Deputy Regional Director-Trust Services, Branch of Real Estate Services in Anchorage, Alaska.

NOTE: TRAVEL AND RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL NOT BE AUTHORIZED. ANY RELOCATION EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH REPORTING FOR DUTY WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SELECTED EMPLOYEE.

Duties

As a Realty Assistant (Generalist/OA), your typical work assignments and/or responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide assistance, advice, oversight, monitoring, and coordination for the protection, management, planning, conservation, development, and utilization of trust and restricted lands.
  • Consult with beneficiaries/lessees and other interested parties about the process, options, documentation, and other needs that may be associated with contracting and/or conveyance activities.
  • Using intermediate knowledge of policies and procedures, implements a trust real estate services program to accomplish the timely and efficient processing of applications for acquisitions, right-of-way, surface, and subsurface leasing and permitting.
  • Provide guidance to other agencies, BIA staff, Tribes, and the public in reviewing complex or completed work to confirm, advise, or determine accuracy of transactions, release of information, and completeness of trust Indian real estate processes.
  • Collaborate and coordinate contract and conveyance transactions with staff and the public to ensure that the necessary clearances and procedures have been secured and completed prior to recommendation of approval.
  • Screen incoming correspondence, prepare replies to routine inquiries, assemble any required supplemental material, and submit for signature.
