Public Health Nurse 1/2 Flex (PCN 061416 - $60,000 SHARP Incentive)
Job Description:
The Department of Health is currently offering a hiring incentive of $60,000 for this Public Health Nurse 1/2 position. The successful candidate may be eligible for a hiring incentive and will be paid in quarterly installments over three full years. The first installment will be paid approximately 60 days after the quarter ends and is contingent upon the incumbent's successful completion of their assignment and timely submission of a quarterly activity report. To receive an incentive, the selected candidate must sign a three-year contract agreeing to live and work in Ketchikan for the duration of the contract.
What you will be doing:
Public Health Nurse 1 serves exclusively as a trainee in a generalized public health nursing program to perform clinical duties as a Registered Nurse in support of a Public Health Center.
Public Health Nurse 2 is the journey level of the series and applies generalized knowledge of public health nursing competencies, principles, and procedures. Incumbents independently provide a broad range of services to individuals, families, communities, and systems.

Minimum Qualifications:
PG03A1 – Public Health Nurse 1
Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Alaska;
AND
Current acceptance and enrollment in a Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science (RN-to-BSN) bridge program from an accredited college or university.
PG03A2 – Public Health Nurse 2
Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska;
AND
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university or Direct Entry Master of Science (MSN) in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
Salary: $3,199.50-$3,420.75 Biweekly; salary information listed in salary section is an approximate monthly estimate.
