Nanoprobe Analysis Engineer (Semiconductor Device Analysis) - Entry Level
Job Description
As a Nanoprobe Analysis Engineer, you will:
- Collect characterization data on semiconductor devices using a state-of-the-art scanning electron microscope (SEM) based nanoprober
- Interpret semiconductor device data and draw conclusions on device performance, based on your device physics expertise
- Develop and implement techniques for nanoprobing of advanced semiconductor technology nodes
- Develop an understanding of various electrical fault isolation techniques
- Collaborate with electrical failure analysts and develop strategies for nanoprobing to enable successful root cause identification
- Collaborate with physical analysis team on sample preparation techniques for nanoprobing
- Collaborate with IC design and FAB process teams to enable implementation of corrective actions, based on nanoprober and physical analysis findings
Qualifications:
- Recent graduate with PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics, with an emphasis on silicon semiconductor device physics
- Passion for semiconductor device characterization and data analysis
- Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes
- Ability to propose possible transistor defects based on abnormal transistor curves
- Ability to understand and debug basic digital and analog circuits
- Ability to work with a diverse team of engineers and technicians
- Laboratory experience with semiconductor process technologies or electronic devices is preferred
- Experience with SEM-based nanoprobe techniques for identifying high resistance and low resistance defects is a plus
- Experience working with advanced FinFET transistors is a plus
- Knowledge of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) physics and technology is a plus
- Knowledge of focused ion beam (FIB) physics and technology is a plus
- Good written and verbal communication skills required
