RF/Software Defined Radio Design Engineer

ENSCO, Inc. is seeking an RF-focused Sr. Electrical Engineer to work in our Sensors group. Tasking may include RF circuit design, lab testing of electronics, soldering/rework of prototype and production electronics, field work, embedded firmware development, software defined radio development, and implementation of DSP IP on custom or COTS SDRs.

Qualifications Required (Skills)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years experience in a related field
  • Experience designing RF circuits, either custom or using discrete RF components, up to mmWave
  • Ability to model and simulate RF circuits and custom RF geometries using a microwave simulator such as HFSS
  • Proficiency using lab and RF/electronic test equipment
  • Experience developing RF capture and signal processing applications on COTS or custom software defined radios
  • Ability to conceptualize, define, design, and implement new systems and technologies.
  • A self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications Desired
  • 10+ years’ experience in a related field
  • Active and current TS/SCI with Counterintelligence Polygraph
  • Understanding of System-on-chip (SoC) firmware development flow with devices such as a Zynq
  • Experience with the Vivado tool chain (or equivalent) for simulation, synthesis, and place & route.
  • Experience with RTOS and embedded Linux development.
  • Experience using the GNU radio environment
  • Experience with antenna design and modeling
  • Experience using Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and circuit simulation tools
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare (EW) applications
  • Experience with RF communications
  • Experience with model-based design principles using MATLAB/Simulink and HDL Coder.
