Product Verification Automation Engineer

Job Overview: 
This is a product verification automation position for Spirent's leading 4G / 5G wireless packet core test and emulation product. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining automation frameworks and utilities to assist in regression testing, benchmarking, and deployment of application software on bare metal servers, virtual machines, and containers.

Job Responsibilities: 
  • Assist in maintaining and adding features to the CI (Continuous Integration) automation framework 
  • Maintain and add features to the existing results database / dashboard that is used to store and display test results 
  • Assist in the deployment, testing, and support of the Landslide product in various virtual, container, and cloud environments including KVM, VMWare, Dockers, Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Anthos 
  • Assist in the creation, maintenance, and execution of benchmark automation and reporting to find the maximum performance characteristics of the Landslide product on various platforms 
  • Create bug reports to identify and document any application or system defects identified 
  • Validate software fixes to ensure defects are properly resolved 
  • Troubleshoot software, hardware, and operating system issues 
  • Provide occasional tier 3 product support for technical issues beyond the scope of the customer support organization 
 
Job Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field from an accredited university; or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum of 2 years of programing / scripting experience 
  • Familiar with Python, Tcl, or JavaScript programming languages 
  • Good working knowledge of the Linux operating system 
  • Test automation experience 
  • Motivated, self-starter who likes challenging work 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well with others 
  • Experience using RESTful or Tcl APIs preferred 
  • Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, SCTP transport protocols a plus 
  • Experience with 4G/5G core network devices and protocols desired
