Car/appliance maintenance manager
Many people take their cars and appliances for granted — until they break down. As a part-time maintenance manager for both vehicles and appliances, you will be a lifeline for remote Bible translation teams, enabling them to focus on their vital work instead of routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
Today, over 2000 people groups, 170 million people, still don’t have the Bible translated into their languages! Wycliffe USA believes the Word of God can transform lives when people hear it in their own language or form, and we urgently need you to join the team!
Job Location: Oaxaca, Mexico
Even though this job is located outside the United States, you must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. as per U.S. employment laws. Want to work in a different location? Wycliffe USA has many open positions located in Africa, Asia, Europe, Americas, and the Pacific!
Every day is different! One day you might change oil on a car. Or you might supervise diagnostic work that leads to sending a truck to a more advanced repair facility. Later you might lead your team to install a new compressor in a refrigerator, giving it many more years of life.
This job might be for you if you…
- Speak Spanish.
- Enjoy repairing cars and domestic appliances.
- Can diligently schedule and record preventive and other maintenance.
- Have a knack for locating cost-effective replacement parts, vehicles and appliances.
- Can schedule workers and perform other routine managerial tasks.
- Are healthy enough to handle moderate lifting and awkward maneuvering.
- Demonstrate the desire and ability to support corporate biblical and religious goals and participate in regular work-related spiritual activities without reservation (Spiritual Bona Fide Occupational Qualification)
It’s a bonus if you…
- Have managerial experience.
- Have a “sixth sense” for diagnosing mechanical problems.
*ABOUT SUPPORTED POSITIONS
Wycliffe Bible Translators is a faith-based organization, and as supported staff (missionary) you will receive a non-traditional salary (including benefits and ministry expenses) through the faithful giving of your personal partnership team. We provide extensive training and resources as you build your financial and prayer partnership team.
Non-traditional salaries are needs-based determined by factors of housing and personal expenses based on geographic location, including dependents and their ages, retirement savings, ministry expenses and taxes. Although salaries vary significantly and it’s not possible to provide an exact number for this position, a typical non-traditional salary for a missionary household is $42,600 to $80,982 annually. These salaries do not include your partnership-raised funds for health insurance, worker’s compensation insurance, or Wycliffe assessment.
