AmeriCorps Expanded Learning - Recruitment Leader

Position Description
The Recruitment Leader will serve with the AmeriCorps Expanded Learning leadership team to expand community outreach, build social media presence through active posting and coordination with Expanded Learning partner sites, and promote the transformational impact of the program on populations with whom they work. Expanded Learning partner sites will become more efficient and effective through increased community awareness, resulting in an increase in volunteer and national service participant interest, retention and new partnerships with institutions of higher learning and local business/foundations.

The AmeriCorps Expanded Learning program, which the Recruitment Leader will serve, applies a layered approach implemented by the Expanded Learning Tutors & Mentors for K – 8 students. All students at the school site benefit from the support of organized collaborative games and conflict resolution during recess/break and lunch. Students in need of additional supports will be assessed and assigned targeted mentoring services in literacy, math, and/or Social Emotional Learning. The assessment process will look holistically at each student using a project-developed screening tool, which encompasses academic test scores, behavior data and input from teachers/staff.

Member Duties : All member activities will aim to collectively raise the awareness of national service opportunities statewide as well as strengthen the ability of the host program to adequately serve their beneficiaries by leveraging all slots awarded. Overall, the Recruitment Leader will be charged with creating and refining systems to recruit and retain quality AmeriCorps members.
