Why This Job

Come be a part of building America by overseeing and managing all functions relating to producing high quality enforcing steel placement drawings of the world's largest structures; such as stadiums, high rises, and bridges. You will be working with CMC's greatest team by interacting and communicating with customers,business leaders, engineers, and our fabrication shop on construction projects from scratch to successful completion.


What You'll Do

  • Produce accurate and detailed rebar placing drawings that conform to industry and company standards for various structures; to include the material list for shop fabrication
  • Coordinate and assist with customer accounts by scheduling material and deliveries, along with conducting any research of field problems, detailing, fabrication, and/or changes to scope of work
  • Determine the quantity, size, length, and bending shapes of bars from instructions and data provided by design drawings and project details
  • Prepare detailed bar lists to be used in the fabrication of reinforcement bars for each project
  • Establishes communication as necessary with contractor, architect or engineer to obtain missing information pertinent to the project
  • Maintains a desirable work area and accurate documentation of records for each job
  • Provide excellent customer service to our internal and external customers
  • Meet project deadlines
  • Perform additional duties as needed


What You'll Need

  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to use MS Word, MS Excel, Autodesk or Bentley CAD platforms
  • Ability to use and understand basic linear measurements (i.e. feet inches, decimals, and metric system)
  • Ability to read and interpret contract drawings (ie blueprint) with strong mathematical skills are required
  • Must be able to visualize three dimensionally (spatial visualization)
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematics, algebra, and geometry
  • Ability to use critical thinking skills to solve unique problems
  • Demonstrate good mechanical aptitude
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification
  • Excellent customer service including follow through, Time management, Planning/organization and prioritizing


Your Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or Construction Technologies preferred
  • Satisfactory completion of computer aided drawing software program
