Hardware Engineer

Hardware Engineer
The Global Hardware organization is responsible for providing industrialized test hardware solutions to support New Product Introduction (NPI) thru Introduction, Qualification, and launch into Production.
Job Summary:

  • Mechanical / Hardware Engineer to drive high quality and cost effective mechanical HW solutions for Final Test and Wafer Test
  • Designing and modeling mechanical stackups including PCBs, Sockets, Handler Kits, and Probe Heads
  • Developing new test hardware technologies / methodologies to improve efficiency, yields, cost savings.
Key Challenges:

  • Ensuring information is available and accurate in order to drive First Time Right quality on solutions while still meeting short leadtime expectations.
  • Package, Electrical, and Contact / Probe requirements are constantly changing and evolving. Challenge is meeting new requirements while also trying to maintain and meet Production Site standards. Need to be able to drive new standards when appropriate.
Cross functional aspects:

  • Close collaboration is required with BL customers, local GNTC Test Floors as well as overseas Production Test Floors. Also will work closely with Packaging and Test Innovation teams.
  • Close engagement with suppliers will be required to ensure that their designs meet our requirements and have low risk of failure.
Job Qualifications:

  • B.S. Mech Eng or equivalent, minimum
  • Up to 2 years work experience, including internships.
  • Additional experience or coursework/projects in SolidWorks, Cadence/Allegro, Simulation/Modeling, Six Sigma Methods, Program Management and Supplier Management preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, cross functional team dynamics, data analytics, and presentation skills desired as position includes working with internal customers and vendors.
