SOX Compliance & Advisory Intern - Spring/Summer 2022

 
SOX & Advisory Intern
The SOX & Advisory Intern will be responsible for assisting with audits and projects covering a broad range of Lithia's operations to determine if functional areas are conducting operations in accordance with established guidelines, policies, procedures, and governmental and legal requirements. The audits and projects include but are not limited to: Sarbanes Oxley testing, process walkthroughs, flowchart updating, annual audits, and external auditor direct assistance.
 
The SOX & Advisory Intern reports to the SOX & Advisory Supervisor.
 
Responsibilities
·       Conduct audit fieldwork using appropriate auditing methods
·       Provide verbal and written correspondence to the SOX Advisors and SOX Supervisors regarding your findings
·       Develop an understanding of Lithia’s operating structure and accounting system
·       Remain current and increase knowledge in the areas of auditing, accounting, business and industry trends
·       Work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of the SOX & Advisory team
·       Prepares acceptable work papers that summarize and illustrate areas covered and are re-performable, per AS No. 3
·       Gain a basic understanding of dealership accounting principles and CDK software
·       Develop workpaper technique and review skills that allow for effective self-assessment
·       Other duties as assigned

·       Must be currently enrolled to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business
·       CIA/CPA certification desired in the future
