Staff Accountant (Tax)- MANAGEMENT POTENTIAL FOR RIGHT PERSON

Alaska’s largest locally owned CPA firm is seeking a staff tax accountant for its Soldotna office who is client-focused with excellent communication skills. This position will work under the direction of a manager\shareholder and will perform duties at a professional level with attention toward the delivery of quality customer service and working well in a team. Job Responsibilities (Prior Experience Preferred but not Required):
 
·        Prepare various federal and state income tax returns for all types of entities
·        Perform year-end accruals - review and prepare tax provisions
·        Research and prepare work papers for various book to tax differences
·        Prepare estimated federal and state income tax payments
·   Maintain required level of technical knowledge, including attending required continuing professional education sessions
·        Works with clients with guidance and supervision
·        Research projects
·     Serve as backup accountant to process client payrolls and other client accounting services when other staff are unavailable

What We Are Seeking:

·        Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
·        Good oral and written communication skills
·        Good work ethic, time management and organizational skills
·        Team player amongst multiple offices
·      Experience in Microsoft Office. Prior experience with ProsystemFx trial balance software and Lacerte tax preparation software a plus but not required. Prior experience with QuickBooks accounting software a plus but not required.

Schedule/ Environment:

Normal hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday- Friday.
