Staff Services Manager (Research Supervisor)

The Indigent Defense Improvement Division (IDID) of the Office of the State Public Defender (OSPD) is seeking a highly energetic, motivated leader who possesses excellent research, communication, and writing skills and is interested in and committed to improving indigent defense services in California. The office prides itself on the diversity of its staff and is striving to preserve and improve upon that diversity.

 

By legislative mandate, the Office of the State Public Defender is dedicated to providing assistance and training to public defender offices and other counsel appointed to represent indigent people accused of crimes and engaging in related efforts for the purpose of improving the quality of indigent defense across the State.

Under the direction of the Executive Director of the IDID or a designee, the Staff Services Manager I (Research Supervisor) performs a full range of duties relating to the supervision of a team of legal and research analysts and provides the administrative operations for the IDID.
