Civil Engineer-in-Training

Kinney Engineering is looking to hire ENGINEERS-in-TRAINING for full-time, permanent positions. We are looking for someone that is self-motivated and able to work both individually and as part of a team.

EITs work with our project engineers to develop designs for street, highway, or utility projects. Duties may include: 

·      Design horizontal and vertical alignments, create plan and profile sheets

·      Determine the need for and design construction details

·      Create and/or modifying AutoCAD drawings

·      Complete quantity computations and cost estimates

·      Site visits to support design efforts and/or monitor construction quality and progress

·      Write and edit engineering reports and construction specifications

Required Qualifications:

·      Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in engineering from an ABET-accredited program

·      Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam

·      Good oral and written communication skills

·      Knowledge and some experience with AutoCAD, Excel, and Word
