The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) together have launched a new COVID-19 Response and Recovery Unit (CRRU). The CRRU located in Portland, Oregon is recruiting for one (1) COVID-19 Travel Epidemiologist.

What will you do?
As a COVID-19 Travel Epidemiologist, under guidance, you will monitor and mitigate COVID-19 introductions from other jurisdictions, establish relationships with counterparts in other states and collaborate on cross-jurisdictional cases and outbreaks.

In addition, you will collaborate with federal partners to watch for and report cases that travel into Oregon by air or sea and coordinate activities with other OHA, CRRU and LPHA staff. You are responsible for completing surveillance activities and supporting epidemiologic studies for the COVID-19 pandemic, including conducting or supporting data analysis and interpretation and collaboration with other OHA epidemiologists.

What are we looking for?
Requested Skills
·       Minimum requirements: A Bachelor's degree in Community Public Health, Epidemiology, or a closely-related field AND two years of epidemiologic or community health experience; OR A Master’s degree in Community Public Health, Epidemiology, Research Analyst, or a closely-related field AND one year of epidemiologic, community health, or research analysis experience.
·       Proficiency with MS Access, Epi-Info, SPSS or R, and FileMaker Pro.
·       Experience with data analysis.
·       Experience monitoring data collection and data entry to assure quality.
·       Proficiency in writing reports and analytic summaries.
·       Ability to collaborate with different agencies and other partners.
·       Ability to interview subjects by telephone is required.
·       Current driver’s license and a good driving record is required as overnight travel throughout the state may be necessary.
·       Experience promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment.
