Engineering Technician

Job Description:  Infinite has a need for a motivated, fab/lab process and integration engineering technician for the 300mm wafer fabricator at Albany Nanotech in New York.
This engineering technician will be supporting the R&D activities of the Heterogeneous Integration project at our client's Artificial Intelligence Hardware Center in Albany NY and will be responsible for line fab support, with primary focus in bring up and qualification of the process and metrology capabilities in the newly constructed 3D wafer finishing, controlled collapse chip connection (C4), and bond and assembly fab lines.
The selected candidate’s primary role will be to support the timely installation and qualification of various tools in the first year.
The selected candidate is expected to work directly w/ the fab operations, process engineering, tool vendors, metrology, and various other teams that support the operations in our R&D facilities and our technology development programs.
The main duties in this role are: (a) Engaging vendor tool support to address daily tool inhibits/issues and oversee tool/process recovery, (b) Initial investigation and troubleshooting of any tool/process/integration issues in sector and engaging of engineering, operations, facilities, equipment engineering, and process engineering teams members in order to facilitate the troubleshooting, (c) Executing and coordinating engineering experiments, (d) Training and certifying process tool operators, (e) Identifying opportunities for operational and quality improvements, (f) Overseeing and maintaining statistical process controls and operational documentation. (g) Executing wafer inspections as needed by the engineering
The candidate is expected to be engaging, collaborative, and with very good communication skills. Experience with semiconductor tooling equipment and/or vacuum tools/systems is preferred. A key advantage would be the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-matrixed environment, maintaining good collaboration and engagement daily in order to drive understanding and troubleshooting of the various issues as they arise.
Education / background in science and/or engineering strongly preferred.
