2020 Amazon Finance Diversity Leadership Summit – Undergraduate Opportunity Summer 2021 Internship

The Amazon FGBS Diversity Leadership Summit (DLS) is designed to educate internship candidates in finance and accounting at Amazon and build leadership skills. Candidates who interview and receive an offer for a 2021 summer internship will be invited to DLS. The two day program allows participants to learn about Amazon’s peculiar culture, network with Amazon thought leaders and motivated peers, and get a glimpse into FGBS career paths. DLS provides a platform to share your ideas and begin building your own broad network of professionals—the people who can help you customize your career and achieve your goals.
Internship Application Deadline: Application must be submitted by 11:59 P.M. PST on Friday, August 28, 2020.
Assessment Process: The assessment process consists of an online assessment, followed by two virtual interviews.
DLS Dates: DLS will take place Thursday, October 8 and Friday, October 9, 2020.

Accounting Internship: Amazon’s accounting team is searching for candidates who consistently exceed expectations, who thrive in a challenging workplace, and who can actively contribute to our talented team. The global accounting organization supports our financial reporting, internal control, intercompany, and transfer pricing activities and also supports new business launches. Role is based in Seattle, WA. Typical responsibilities include:
· Detailed analysis of general ledger activity: Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
· Account reconciliations and business analysis: Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future trends and comparisons to actuals.
· Process improvement: Identify efficiencies through automation and reduction of redundancies. Streamline the processes involved in month end close.
Business Unit (BU) Finance Internship: Amazon is seeking data-driven, business-minded, results-oriented Financial Analyst interns. The ideal candidate is a proven self-starter with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to dive deep. Role is based in Seattle, WA. Responsibilities include:
· Preparation and reporting of financial performance for weekly, monthly, and annual reviews
· Producing meaningful operational metrics to help drive performance and achieve business objectives.
· Applying financial acumen and technical understanding to provide insights on growth, profitability, capital investment, and cash flow
Operations Finance Internship: What does it look like to be an Operations Finance partner for a $100B and growing startup? Cutting-edge technology (yes, we have robots and drones) and automation attract some of the brightest in Operations to help us redefine our distribution network every year. The role is not based in Seattle Corporate Offices. Operations-Finance Interns are placed in one of our Fulfillment Centers (FCs) across the United States during their internship. Typical responsibilities include:
· Preparation and reporting of financial performance for weekly, monthly, and annual reviews
· Evaluate and quantify new business ideas
· Perform data-intensive analyses to drive meaningful change and improvement to the way we serve our customers
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Currently working towards a bachelor's degree with an expected conferral date between December 2021 and Summer 2022
· Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or other business related majors with expected conferral date between December 2021 and August 2022
