Information Management Specialist

These global opportunities combine communications and technical challenges with the opportunity to pursue cross-cultural interests. You’ll have the chance to live and work abroad, while experiencing different cultures, and help to protect U.S. interests abroad.
As a Foreign Service Information Management Specialist with the U.S. Department of State, you will have the opportunity to manage and operate worldwide information technology infrastructure, including PC local and wide area networks, telecommunications systems, telephone and UHF/VHF programs, and diplomatic pouch and mail services.

Every day, you’ll encounter new challenges that will broaden your expertise in the face of rapidly evolving technologies and systems outside your area of expertise. As you travel abroad and experience new cultures, your work will make a lasting impact toward building peace and prosperity worldwide.
In return for your service, you’ll have access to continued training and career development programs; health and medical coverage; federal retirement benefits; and generous paid leave. When serving overseas, you’ll be provided paid housing or an appropriate housing allowance, and paid education for dependent children K through 12.
