Evidence Control Specialist
This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), San Francisco Field Division.
This position(s) primary purpose is to receive, document, store, and dispose of non-drug evidence, drug evidence, bulk drug evidence, and/or stockpiles for a Field Office.
Duties
As a Evidence Control Specialist, your typical work assignments may include:
- Working with vendors to schedule and coordinate the disposal or storage of evidence.
- Serving as a point of contact and provides guidance, processes, and procedures with regards to the Field Division's evidence program to all personnel, other federal agencies, and state and local counterparts.
- Responsible for the receipt, retention, and disposition of evidence for the Field Division Office, which includes all items seized and recovered which are expected to be introduced in court and/or subject to chain-of-custody attack, regardless of size, as collected.
- Maintaining files and processes paperwork while monitoring all division evidence inventory levels and movement using manual or computer automated systems.
