About the Position:

Under the direction of the Branch Chief of Traffic Signs and Safety Devices, a Senior Transportation Engineer (Supervisor), the incumbent, a Transportation Engineer (Civil) serves as the Traffic Signs Engineer in the Traffic Sign and Safety Devices Branch. The incumbent is responsible for supporting various professional engineering tasks related to traffic signs, addresses inquiries from different stakeholders, and assists the Senior Transportation Engineer in developing, maintaining, and revising the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CAMUTCD) and the California Numbered Exit Uniform System to ensure the uniform application of signs throughout California.
